Staying Updated On Stefanie

Well this site was started to keep friends and family updated on my life since I lived so far away for 12 years, but now that I am living back in my home town it's for all my friends that I made in the different states I lived in. 

But a little about my background. I grew up in a small town in the Heart of The Adirondack Mountains in NY. It was a small town called, Lake Placid, NY. Like I said it is a very small town. One of those towns where everyone knows everyone. I hated growing up there, but now that I go back and visit I see it's actually a pretty place, but I also see its a small town acting like a small city. In 1999 I graduated from Lake Placid High School and also had completed a 2 year course in Culinary Arts at Boces in Saranac Lake, NY. In 2000, I moved to Raleigh, NC. It was a little better, but hated the summers. It was so hot and humid. But I guess no matter where you live there is going to be something you don't like about it. In 2003 I bought a house in Garner, NC which is right outside of Raleigh. I do miss owning a house, but I will again one day. In July 2005, I sold my house and moved across the country to Puyallup, WA. At first I loved it out there. There was so much to do. You have the beach, mountains, desert, rain forest, city life, and small town life all within a couple hour drive in any direction. But again, the winters got very old with all the rain. It doesn't rain as much as people say, but it does rain alot there and it just gets old very quick. In 2007 I got Married. Yikes! 2008 We moved to Alaska. He was in the military and got stationed at Fort Richardson in Anchorage. We are now in the process of getting divorced, but ya live and ya learn. Alaska was a great adventure. Before we moved up there we took a trip around the country which those adventures will be able to be seen on my adventure page. Life is about having adventures and not regretting anything, just learn from it. In 2012 I moved back to Lake Placid and I am finally happy and loving life. I try and keep busy with work, family and friends.

Speaking of keeping busy, I sure did that and still do. I am currently working full time. In 2008 I finished online classes for Forensic Science, so I now have a Certificate in Forensic Science, which I want to get a bachelor's degree in. I did take 2 semsters of Hospitality Management, but realized that wasn't what I wanted to do. I also started a online home business selling home made chocolates. I may pick that up again once I get my stuff from Alaska. 

Since I have been back home I have learned alot about myself. I have learned how strong I am, how important my family and friends are and the big one is how to be happy again and not let anyone bring me down. My new look at life is you don't like me that's your problem and you don't need to be in my life. I put my happiness first. I have struggled to get where I am in my life, but it was a trip I needed to take. I needed to find out who I was and what I wanted out of life. And honestly I just need my family and friends.
